Your guide will meet you in Reims or Epernay and drive you out of town into the French countryside to visit small family domaines to discover a wide range of tastes and styles of Champagne. Depending on the season, you might see a tasting of the grapes, the harvest, or techniques of pruning. You might also see the management of new and reserve wines, blending, second fermentation, degorgement, and you will be able to enjoy multiple tastings!
Our local English speaking guide will pick you up at 8:45/9:00am or 1:30pm/ 1:45pm and drop you off from the station, your accommodation, Reims Cathedral or a local restaurant close to Reims Ville Station.
We will drop you off at a restaurant for lunch within easy walking distance to the train station and Cathedral.
Discover the Reims Mountains as you pass through the Grand Cru villages like Verzy, Verzenay, Mailly for a tour and multi-tastings at 2 grower producers or if on a weekday we might be able to plan 3 multi tasting visits for groups of 4 or less.
From Epernay we can go in any direction, a Grand Cru village in the Cote de Blancs and tasting a 100% Chardonnay, the Marne Valley or the Montagne de Reims.
Additional Info: Public rates: Vineyard visit 18€pp to 30€pp / Triple tasting visits 8-22€pp. Unless specified as "private only visit" some vineyards may add a few people to the visit as they may only offer one visit per day as they do not have the infrastructure to spend more time away from making Champagne. We'll help you plan the other half of your day on request.
Take a short train ride from Paris to Chateau Thierry for visits tastings at local family producers. There are over 500 producers just in this small region of the Marne known for the Pinot Meunier grape and producing some amazing Champagnes. We will reserve a cellar visit at the largest Champagne house in the area for a guided visit of their cellars which have been used for over 700 years, first as a mushroom cellar and then for Champagne.
